The multidisciplinary team has started design development workshops for the New Science Centre, which will replace the existing centre which opened in 1977 and attracts more than a million visitors every year.

Located next to the Chinese Garden station of Singapore’s MRT metro system, the New Science Centre is envisaged as a ground-breaking institution in the Jurong Lake District.

It will continue the centre’s mission to bring science to life by using creative storytelling and innovative technologies to create enriching and immersive learning experiences and exploring new and unique ways to inspire and enlighten visitors in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The New Science Centre will have improved educational facilities such as specialised laboratories to complement learning in schools and will take advantage of its lakeside setting to offer outdoor programmes and activities.
