This June 2021 will see the culmination of almost 10 years of work by Dexter Moren Associates on the Westin London City complex, a new-build development near St Paul's Cathedral.
DMA's design for the new landmark building replaces the previous a collection of four tired and outdated office buildings with a cohesive piece of architecture.
The 5-star Westin hotel will comprise nine luxury apartments with panoramic river-facing views, 222 guestrooms including 29 suites, a spa and swimming pool, extensive conference and banqueting facilities, a riverside restaurant and bar with views over the River Thames.
The Thames-side walkway is a key element of the scheme, and the final piece connects the Embankment with the Tower of London. DMA's interior design is driven by a nature-inspired concept aiming to create a feeling of calm within the bustling city. A serene palette of natural colours is enlivened with contrasting tones, textures and materials.
The project is just one of eight hotel and apartment openings in this year announced by hospitality architects and interior designers.
