The QHotels Group is investing £16m in a significant renovation of The Queens Hotel in Leeds.
Celebrating over 80 years in the city, the modernised hotel will pay homage to its rich history but will also play to the new way people are now using city-centre hotel spaces.
The refurbishment includes renovation of all bedrooms, as well as adding an additional 16, bringing the room total to 232. Plans also include a social hub at the heart of the hotel, which will transform the ground floor with a multitude of communal areas as well as a boutique and personal check-in area.
The retail food and beverage offer will be redeveloped with a vibrant wine bar, outdoor terrace that spills out into the heart of the City, extensive coffee space and a central restaurant offering afternoon tea and a la carte options.
Upperworth Studios and Iliard Design are working on the renovation project, which aims to retain and enhance as many of the building’s historical features, including the hotel reception’s barrel-vaulted ceiling and original timber floors as well as the listed red passenger lifts.
The new-look Queens Hotel will officially be unveiled summer 2021.
